The LTH Matrons of the Arts is a membership community dedicated to teaching women how to find meaning in art by becoming supporters, collectors, advocates, and investors in the work of women artists. (You’ve heard of patronage— this is matronage.)
Through community and education members are taught how the art market works— from how to negotiate prices, identify authenticity, to how to insure an art collection for future generations— coming together for events, online and in person.
Open to the Public: Matrons Mixer
Never attended one of our mixers before?
Here's what makes it special:
A Matron's Mixer is a gathering for culturally curious women to connect, exchange ideas, and explore meaningful art. You'll mingle in galleries that showcase women artists and proudly represent 50% (or more!) women, fostering a space that celebrates creativity, dialogue, and community — in alignment with your values and your goals as a collector.
Open to all.
Thought Leadership: How to Engage with Women Art Collectors and Values-based Collecting with AWAD
Over Zoom.
How can art dealers and advisors engage and support women and values-based collectors, particularly if they are new to the art world?
According to an Art Basel/UBS Survey of Global Collecting, wealthy women are a "growing force" in the art world, spending more on art than men in their median expenditure, and with more inclusive collecting tipped towards women and BIPOC artists. Younger collectors are also more likely to be passionate about supporting emerging artists from a diversity of backgrounds. How can art dealers and advisors engage and support such values-based collectors, particularly if they are new to the art world? Join the Association of Women Art Dealers when Sylvie Gormezano (Independent Curator) and Hall W. Rockefeller (Less than Half) join Susan Mumford, AWAD's Founder & CEO to discuss this topic.
Open to the public.
