The LTH Matrons of the Arts is a membership community dedicated to teaching women how to find meaning in art by becoming supporters, collectors, advocates, and investors in the work of women artists. (You’ve heard of patronage— this is matronage.)
Through community and education members are taught how the art market works— from how to negotiate prices, identify authenticity, to how to insure an art collection for future generations— coming together for events, online and in person.
Members Only: Art Professional Webinar
Part 2 of our "Legacy" curriculum, which focuses on how to build longevity into your collection for the sake of your legacy and the legacy of the artists within it.
Join Caitlin Yates of Bullimore Partners to discuss the basics of collection management — from the archival must haves (invoices!) to the nice to haves (correspondence with the artist!) — to how to think thoroughly about who will steward your collection when you move on from it (either through donation, deacquisition, gifting, or estates).
More about Caitlin: Caitlin Yates is a cross-category fine and decorative art specialist with a deep understanding of the art market. She has worked for private galleries in the US and the UK and worked at Christie’s in London for a decade. As a Specialist and Head of Sale in the Private and Iconic Collections Department, she successfully oversaw and sold diverse multi-million-pound single-owner collections spanning antiquities to modern & contemporary art, fashion and guitars. Yates returned to the US when she was recruited to serve as Art Collection Manager for the Ann and Gordon Getty Collection before launching Bullimore Partners in 2024.
Yates holds an MLitt in Art History and Art World Practice from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, with additional art law coursework through The Institute of Art & Law.
